Service & Sales Executive (Hato Rey Branch)

Summary of responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing basic information to members on accounts, payments, interest rates, loan options and/or savings programs.
  • Resolves member questions and problems regarding account statements, loans, payments, automatic transfers, interest rates, investment certificates and any additional related information.
  • Actively, consistently and professionally cross sells CFCU’s products and services and meets the cross-selling goals as assigned.
  • Completes research and resolves documentation errors or discrepancies, forwards more complex problems to senior officers or to supervisor.
  • Develop new member opportunities through referrals from existing, satisfied members, and other sources.
  • Accepts and/or process new account and loan requests according to set procedures. Pre-approve or deny applications based on analysis.
  • Provides general information to members on company policies, procedures and programs.
  • Provide assistance with Internet use and bill payment systems.
  • Assists members with the loan application process to ensure completeness of information.
  • Makes the appropriate calculations regarding the loan application.
  • Gather background information on loan applicants by interviewing loan applicants and obtaining information from credit bureau reports.
  • Assist with Loans payment through ACH originations software, identify and resolves problems regarding ACH originations.
  • Operates with moderate credit authority; refers more complex situations to supervisor, loan specialist or manager.
  • Alternate or rotate among Ubanking, Virtual and Platform divisions, as required.
  • Keeps informed on company policies and procedures affecting job duties and responsibilities and complies with by-laws and regulations affecting the organization.
  • Completes and maintains all related reports and records as required by the organization, and attends meetings as required.
  • Follow applicable procedures for all job duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Participates in education, coaching and/or training activities as needed.

With the following qualifications:

- Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, major in Finance, Accounting or related fields; or equivalent education and experience.

Additionally, this position requires the following:

  • Overall knowledge of financial institutions department operations, products and services
  • Consumer credit administration and/or banking knowledge experience
  • Working knowledge of member life cycle needs
  • Knowledge of product features, benefits, and related pricing policies and procedures for retail banking products

Mortgage Loan Originator

Summary of Duties and responsibilities:

  • Offer residential mortgage products that are approved and supported by CFCU. Required to be knowledgeable of all products and services offered by CFCU.
  • Process applications and verify accuracy for mortgage open-end and close-end loans; conduct loans interviews with members when necessary.
  • Provides guidelines for potential mortgage loans and work together with builders, realtors and other associated groups in instituting positive relationship that will enhance business referrals.
  • Stay abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products in order to satisfy members' financial needs.
  • Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of approval loans. A credit report is obtained and analyzed by the MLO.
  • Explain the different types of loans and credit options that are available to CFCU’s members, as well as the terms of those loan programs.
  • Responsible for determining the applicant's debt-to-income ratio, determining the borrower's creditworthiness and the appropriate interest rate and loan terms.
  • Maintain a member file after discussing it with a borrower; evaluate their credit report and guide them through the process of application.
  • Prepare reports of originated and closed cases, and closing projections report with adequate quarterly and annual statistics. As well, prepare weekly pipeline reports.
  • Assists the borrower in determining the proper loan program, completing the loan application and gathering the necessary paperwork, including pay stubs, tax returns and bank statements, among others, to begin the loan process.
  • Provide all applicable disclosures for loans applications.
  • Calculate estimate loan costs and provide a “Loan Estimate Form” to member in accordance with the applicable state and federal and laws.
  • Process and analyze loans to include verification of employment, deposit accounts, and all liabilities in order to prepare application of verified information.
  • Order and check credit report to determine credit worthiness of applicant based on industry standards for collateral/equity value.
  • Obtain copy of current homeowners insurance and flood insurance (if applicable) and make sure mortgage clause is in favor of CFCU.
  • Establish repayment and interest timetable based upon loan guidelines and rates.
  • Responsible of monthly reports such as: approved, denied and cancel loans and contribution and origination expenses.
  • Fulfill CFCU monthly and/or trimestral mortgage sales objectives.
  • This position may require traveling throughout the island. A valid driver’s license is obligatory.
  • Participates in education, coaching and training activities as needed.
  • Employee shall also perform such other related duties and services assigned by Supervisor.
  • Responsible to comply with all Federal and State by-laws, rules and regulations.
  • Education and/or Experience:
  • Preferable Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting preferred, and one-year of related experience; or four-year of College or University, and two-years of related experience and/or training in similar position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Consumer credit administration and/or banking knowledge experience
  • Broad knowledge of financial institutions, loan and credit principles and procedures.
  • Ability to deal directly with members by phone, mail or personally.
  • This position requires registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS), as created by the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008. Pursuant to the SAFE Act requirements, all employees engaged in residential loan mortgage originations (as defined by the SAFE Act) must be registered with the federal registry system and maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE Act requirements. Failure to register successfully or to maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE Act will affect your eligibility for continued employment and may result in your immediate termination.

 Language Skills:

Sales Abilities:

To perform this job successfully the incumbent must demonstrate exceptional sales capabilities, by meeting CFCU monthly and/or trimestral mortgage sales objectives.

Compliance Analyst

 

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and maintain knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with existing requirements; ability to understand and interpret complex government laws and regulations.
  • Verify, analyze, and organize transactional, compliance and/or audits reports, requested in policies, regulations or as assigned by the Compliance Director.
  • Revise, correct, update, suggest and/or prepare policies, procedures and/or programs by departments as determined by the Compliance Director.
  • Understand and apply policies and procedures associated with CFCU compliance.
  • Evaluates information, statistics, data and/or material regarding compliance related matters.
  • Examine potential OFAC matches; review and clear “false-positive” matches, according with proper policies and/or procedures; contacts appropriate agencies, when necessary, to determine the validity of potential OFAC matches.
  • Analyzes risk potential of current policies and procedures to minimize loss exposure.
  • Assists in the proper arranging, and periodically adjust the “Risk Rating Parameters”, when needed or as directed by the Compliance Director.
  • Participates in personnel orientation of CFCU regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Review, analyze and stratify the accounts risk rating, according to stablished compliance parameters.
  • Performs ongoing monitoring of high risk and/or any other accounts, using risk-based approach methods in accordance with BSA Compliance Program and procedures.
  • Ensure findings and/or suspicious events on monitoring investigations are appropriately identified, documented, and escalated to the Compliance Director.
  • Prepare and maintain custody of the records of the investigations with evidence that supports the decision adopted and ensure strict control of these to meet procedures requirements.
  • May conduct control visits to high-risk members or make the referral for their completion in accordance with the assignments made by the Compliance Director.
  • Assist in the management of conducted audit tests and/or exams to ensure tracking of resolutions on identified concerns.
  • Understands examination finding reports and contributes to its proper solution.
  • Propose and/or implement new procedures to improve audit processes.
  • Fulfill regulatory compliance and credit union policies and regulations.
  • Assists in the development of compliance training programs.
  • Participates in education and/or training activities, as needed and/or required.
  • Perform such other duties, as assigned by the Compliance Director.

Education and/or Experience:

This job requires a Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Criminal Justice. Possess three years or more of banking related experience and/or training; Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language and Communication Skills:

Require the ability to read and comprehend instructions, regulations and communications in English and Spanish. Facility to write emails and documentation in Spanish and/or English. Ability to effectively present information to others in person and/or virtually. Ability to understand and interpret complex government laws and regulations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to operate in windows environment software and other necessary programs.
Travel:

On occasion it may be required that incumbent travels to some and/or between all of Caribe Federal Credit Union Branches, as well as, travel outside of Puerto Rico.

Teller (Fulltime)

Summary of responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist members in a professional and accurate manner.
  • Perform account services or special requests to members, such as providing account balances, receiving deposits and/or loan payments; processing transfers; exchanging checks; withdrawals; money orders, among other transactions.
  • Verify amounts and/or available balances; confirm proper check endorsement and signature, before processing the transaction.
  • Promote and cross-sell other bank products by answering inquiries or informing partners of new services and products ascertaining customer needs, and/or by guiding partners to branch adequate representatives.
  • Reconciles cash drawer at the end of the shift and compare totaled amounts with proper proof sheet; report any discrepancies to supervisor, as needed.
  • Responsible for counting and packing currency and coins; reconciling loan coupons and other transactions; verify excess cash and mutilated currency; maintain an adequate cash and currency supply.
  • Ensure a clean, organized and properly supplied area.
  • Properly respond members’ requests, problems, and/or complaints, and/or direct them to the proper personnel for specific information and assistance.
  • Provide routine information on credit union services and/or policies, including eligibility for membership, types of credit union accounts, interest rates, and dividend rates, among others.
  • Complies with bank operations and security procedures by participating in all dual-control functions.
  • Stay informed on all company policies and procedures affecting job duties and responsibilities; complies with by-laws, regulations and procedures affecting the organization.
  • Participates in education, coaching and/or training activities, as needed.
  • Perform such other related duties and services assigned, as negotiated with supervisor

Education and/or Experience:
